Portfolios
We’ve not had much time to blog this week because we’ve arrived at that time in the educational calendar when work has to be handed in for assessment. For the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year design students the key piece is their portfolio, which is due to be handed in this Friday.
The Thoughtful 6 got things a bit muddled up, and were under the impression this deadline didn’t apply to them, as they were involved in this project - but unfortunately for them it did. So they were all a bit panicky last Thursday when they realised they had just a week to sort out a folder and an individual 10-minute presentation for their Critical Studies. And to their credit, each one of them has risen to the challenge and created an impressive folder and presentation in five days.
Ed said: ‘The skills we’ve learned over the last 4 months have really come into play this week - had we not been on this placement, there’s no way we could have handled so much in such a short space of time. On Thursday afternoon we felt way behind but by Monday we realised that it would be ok.'
It’ll be back to normal service today as their presentations were yesterday and the folders will be virtually finished by lunch time today.
Here are a few spreads from their folders.

Carrie’s

Ed’s, who chose to do his whole folder landscape

And last but not least, Lauren’s.
